Bob Alsobrook, Senior Executive Vice President and Managing Director, has been a senior professional member of Grenzebach Glier and Associates (GG+A) since 1990, and he has 30 years of experience in consulting and fundraising for major educational and medical institutions.

Bob most recently served as Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Union University in Jackson, Tenn. where he managed and directed the development, alumni, and university relations programs of the institution.  His responsibilities included serving on the University’s executive cabinet, President’s council, budget and planning team, marketing council and co-chairing the administrative council. He also served as Director of the University’s Building a Future campaign that significantly exceeded its $60 million goal more than one year ahead of schedule.

Bob also has served as Vice President for Medical Center Development and Alumni Affairs at Tulane University in New Orleans.  There, he managed medical center fundraising programs for support from all sectors and coordinated fundraising among the School of Medicine, the University Hospital and Clinic, and the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.  His responsibilities included overseeing activities in the areas of development and fundraising, management, alumni affairs, public relations and publications, and sponsored research and projects.  Prior to serving as Vice President, he was Director of Medical Center Development and Director of the Medical Center campaign.

Before joining Tulane, Bob served at the University of Chicago as Director of Medical Center Alumni Development and as Associate Director of Medical Center Development.  In these capacities, he played a significant role in the achievement of the Medical Center’s Renewal campaign.  He developed and executed the operating plan for the Medical Center’s annual fund and alumni capital campaigns, and achieved a success rate of more than 115 percent for all goals.

Bob has also served at the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State University) in the School of Law as Assistant Dean for Administration and Assistant to the Dean, and in the office of the Vice President for Business and Finance.  His responsibilities included organizing and coordinating the Law School’s programs in development, alumni affairs and continuing legal education, as well as directing the administrative and business services of the Law School, such as budgets and non-academic personnel. 

Bob holds a master’s degree in educational administration and supervision (1974) and a bachelor’s degree in economics (1973) from Memphis State University. He has been a member of several national organizations concerned with fundraising, including the Association of American Medical Colleges and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
