Beth Braxton is an alumna of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (class of 1988) and began her career in development in 1991 with the March of Dimes where she was a special events coordinator. She spent 7 ½ years in health care development, including five years as assistant director and later development director of development for community hospitals in North Carolina. Working in “small shops” allowed her to have a role in every facet of development from events to planned giving; from faculty –staff campaigns to major gifts; from annual giving to volunteer management..

In 1999 she returned to her alma mater as Director of The Loyalty Fund at UNC’s School of Medicine. She has worked as Director of Major Gifts at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and assistant dean for development and alumni affairs at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (her major) before being asked to take over UNC’s annual fund in 2003.

As director of the annual fund, UNC’s central office annual fund has seen an increase of 37% in dollars over four fiscal year.

Beth is married and has 2 sons (13 and 11). For “fun” she participates in endurance walks  - The Breast Cancer 3Day – walking 60 miles in 3 days for breast cancer research.
